The last thing you want to do to your player is to force them to do something extremely specific like that. This is pretty much the antithesis to fun, forcing the player to play strictly in a specific way or punishing by having them know that they will miss out on rewards, if they drop anything satisfying at all. This really creates the dreaded hunt for "loot goblins" and forces you to bring your Magic find Squad to reap actual rewards. The character is not in a bad state, I just could not bring myself to chase after rewards that felt non-existant while the community was up in flames. This league I am simply burnt out which made me end my Kalandra league "Career" really soon. These are the things that kill my motivation to actually start anew if the first character of the league fails or struggles to do anything in an adequate speed, considering a lot of this game demands you to be a fast killing machine, living by the mantra of "Nothing can hurt me if everything dies immediately". or an attempt to create a build around one of the lots and lots of useless skills that are easily outclassed by the current meta. It is not a secret that one would likely have to follow a powerful build guide and play things safe to get started but the power level of the enemies in the game and their lack of actually enabling drops slows the game down to a crawl if you dare to experiment around with a less powerful build. It is not that the core mechanics are boring to play around with, it is just that I usually end up with nothing interesting in my stash that would actually enable me to push my limits. Playing around did cost me the league, as there was little to no motivation to actually start anew. During 3.18 I got tired of grinding the same function over and over again, attempted to invest into my character a little early and got stuck. During 3.17 I found an expensive divination card to fuel my efforts in a pace that was fun and fulfilling. I'd love to say otherwise but it is getting almost impossible for me to catch up with many of the current mechanics enough to properly use them and achieve actual progress by using them.ĭuring 3.17 and 3.18 I played around with essences to build up a little bit of currency to get started for real.
